Technology Blog #4: Learning to Learn

Image
Chapter 3, Learning to Learn , discusses how we need to rethink our approach to learning. Teachers should stop seeing themselves as the sole providers of knowledge, and students should move away from being passive receivers. Instead, they should adopt a learner-first mindset. For example, in Jason's story, rather than identifying the problem first, we should focus on finding the solution and then understanding the problem. The fire truck represents the problem, while water represents the solution—we need to shift our focus to the solution first. The chapter emphasizes that learning is an ongoing process; it transforms us from not knowing to knowing, and then to doing. The chapter also introduces the concepts of knowledge in practice and knowledge of practice , encouraging learning beyond traditional classroom methods. It explains three learning strategies: passive (knowledge for), active (knowledge in), and reflective (knowledge of). Instead of just absorbing information, learn...

Web Tool Smackdown- Photoshop Adobe

Image
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z47kJTfmED8 The app I chose to present for my Smackdown is Adobe Photoshop , a powerful tool I plan to use in my graphic design career, particularly in the advertising industry. As a graphic designer, I could work for companies like Netflix, where editing photos and creating high-quality images is essential. Photoshop would be the perfect app to remove imperfections from images, whether by blurring out blemishes or using the lasso tool to cut out parts of an image and place them in a new background. Its variety allows me to manipulate photos with precision, ensuring they meet the specific needs of my projects. In addition to photo manipulation, Photoshop allows me to adjust a wide range of elements such as saturation, hue, brightness, and contrast. I can also use the brush tool to add unique designs and textures to the image, enhancing its visual appeal. Since many advertising projects require impactful visuals, I can utilize the text tool to add enga...

The network is where you find ideas and information to share with your professional learning community and community practices to develop learning skills and create research to take to your school. Learning is no...
